Year end
Today, the temperature was around 13-14 degrees Celsius, which is a bit warmer than usual for this time of year. On New Year’s Eve, our family traditionally eats soba, a buckwheat noodle, as we wish for a long and healthy new year. And of course, the most important part is enjoying sweets with green tea.
Word of the year
Looking back on 2024, the most memorable moment for me was getting sick! I fell ill at the office, which was embarrassing, and I also struggled with the summer heat. Unfortunately, I was sick from Christmas until the end of the year, experiencing rashes on my body that eventually spread to my face, along with red, bloodshot eyes.
However, not everything was negative. I had the opportunity to visit my high school teacher with some friends, which brought us closer together. They made me feel valued and full of ideas.
My teacher is an incredibly inspiring person. During a time when rice was out of stock, I started to think about growing just enough rice for myself. I discussed this idea with my teacher, who recommended a book by a journalist who spent a year growing his own rice in a suburb. The book detailed the challenges he faced in doing so.
I also learned about a woman named Nikunokoji Nikuyo, who I discovered on YouTube while in New Jersey during COVID. She transitioned from a career in investment banking to sharing her financial knowledge. Nikunokoji has written a book on attracting wealth and managing money effectively. One of her most powerful messages is, “You are the CEO of your life.”
In 2025, I envision my life as a CEO, and I hope it will be the year I discover the path to achieving my dreams.
